Penkridge North East and Acton Trussell By Election Results
Penkridge North East and Acton Trussell has now become the tightest marginal district seat in all of South Staffordshire. The Lib Dems were just 11 votes off from winning from a standing start. The ward in question had been uncontested Conservative for the last 10 years, so for candidate Sam Harper-Wallis (who has never stood for election before) to achieve the 46% swing is remarkable.
“We can’t thank our residents enough for the warm welcome Sam received on the doors in July. Regardless of the narrow loss Sam is not going away, Sam and the FOCUS team will not stop campaigning for residents to ensure that the Conservatives have to work hard to win your vote for the district wide local elections in May!” - Cllr Sam Harper-Wallis
The wards boundaries are currently being review with the new proposed plans currently with Parliament. The changes would see the majority of the Penkridge West ward incorporated resulting in the new ward of Penkridge North and Acton Trussell.
Win or Lose Sam vowed to continue to be an advocate for his community. The ward with the rest of South Staffordshire will be up for elections in May 2023.
